Maame Esi Ebiesima Amekudzi

Maame Esi Ebiesima Amekudzi is a health systems and humanitarian development professional with over 14 years of experience in Ghana’s health sector, with expertise spanning health policy and planning, health systems strengthening, programme implementation, monitoring and evaluation, health research, strategic coordination, and stakeholder engagement.
She currently serves as a Principal Health Planner with the Policy, Planning, Monitoring and Evaluation Division (PPMED) of the Ghana Health Service, where she also holds the additional responsibility of Interim Head of the Policy Department. In this role, she contributes to national health policy implementation, strategic planning, programme coordination, resource mobilization, health sector performance monitoring, and multi-stakeholder collaboration across government institutions, development partners, and implementing agencies.

Maame also serves as Director of Programs and Operations for Harvestfield Impact Foundation (HIF), where she provides strategic and operational leadership for the Foundation’s humanitarian and community development initiatives. Her work supports programme development, organizational systems strengthening, partnership engagement, operational coordination, and implementation of sustainable interventions focused on health, education, women and child empowerment, community wellbeing, and support for vulnerable populations.
She has contributed to several national and international health initiatives, including serving as Deputy Survey Lead for the Ghana Harmonised Health Facility Assessment (HHFA) and Co-Principal Investigator for Countdown 2030 initiatives focused on tracking Universal Health Coverage and Sustainable Development Goal indicators in Ghana. She continues to contribute to health systems strengthening initiatives, strategic policy processes, and efforts aimed at improving equitable access to quality healthcare services.

Maame holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Sociology and Political Science from the University of Ghana, a Master of Business Administration (MBA) from the Ghana Institute of Management and Public Administration (GIMPA), a Postgraduate Certificate in International Public Health from the University of Leeds, and a Master of Public Health (MPH) degree from the University of Ghana School of Public Health.
She is passionate about humanitarian service, women empowerment, mentorship, and sustainable community development. Her work is guided by a commitment to advancing equitable access, strengthening systems, promoting dignity and wellbeing, and supporting initiatives that create meaningful and lasting community impact.
